Charrette: Light, Color & Materiality (Nov. 5)

Today I readdressed how I will implement my concept. I am modifying my concept to "transformation" and my strategy is related to the various processes used to make the art pieces in the gallery. For example, woodturning is creating something by the process of removing material while the wood is revolving on the lathe. The discovery part is that you begin with a rough piece of wood and you don't know what your creation is going to look like until you remove the wood down to the desired shape and size. Each piece of wood has a unique figure to the grain, especially the spalted woods. Fibre Art is the process of joining or weaving fibres to create a textile. Glass art and sculpture are processes of molding and shaping the materials by manipulating and/or adding/removing materials. I will reflect the processes described herein in the way I design the space and the materials I use in the space.
